Look, we get it - nobody actually reads these things, but we're gonna keep it real with you anyway.

Sustainable Design

Here's the deal - we're architects who care about building responsibly, and that extends to how we handle your info too. We're not in the business of selling data or bombarding you with spam. This page breaks down what we collect, why we need it, and what we do with it. Pretty straightforward stuff.

When you reach out to us or use our website, we might collect stuff like:

  • Your name and contact details (email, phone number) - pretty basic stuff
  • Project info you share with us during consultations
  • Technical data like your IP address, browser type, and how you navigate our site
  • Cookies to make sure the site works properly and remembers your preferences

We're not gonna ask for anything we don't actually need. If a form field isn't marked as required, then it's totally optional.

We're not collecting data just for kicks. Here's what we use it for:

  • Getting back to you when you contact us (kinda the whole point, right?)
  • Understanding your project needs and putting together proposals
  • Keeping you updated on ongoing projects if you're a client
  • Making our website better based on how people use it
  • Meeting legal and professional obligations - yeah, there's paperwork in architecture

We're architects, not data brokers. Your info stays with us and isn't sold or rented to anyone else.

Just like we spec quality materials for our buildings, we take security seriously:

  • SSL encryption for data transmission - that little lock icon in your browser
  • Secure servers with regular backups
  • Limited access within our team - only folks who need it can see your info
  • Regular security updates and monitoring

Nothing's 100% bulletproof online, but we're doing our part to keep things locked down tight.

Yeah, we use cookies - not the chocolate chip kind, unfortunately. Here's the breakdown:

  • Essential cookies: Make the site actually work - can't really turn these off
  • Analytics cookies: Help us see what pages people visit and how they use the site
  • Preference cookies: Remember your settings so you don't have to keep re-entering stuff

You can manage cookie preferences in your browser settings if you wanna be selective. We won't take it personally.

We work with a few trusted partners to keep things running:

  • Email service providers for communications
  • Web hosting companies for keeping the site live
  • Analytics tools to understand site traffic
  • Cloud storage for project files (all encrypted, don't worry)

These partners are contractually bound to protect your data just like we do. We've vetted them carefully.

It's your data, and you've got rights. Here's what you can do:

  • Access: Ask us what info we have on you
  • Correction: Update or fix any incorrect details
  • Deletion: Request we delete your data (with some legal exceptions)
  • Opt-out: Unsubscribe from marketing emails anytime
  • Portability: Get a copy of your data in a usable format

Just shoot us an email at info@celvaronquintho.info if you wanna exercise any of these rights. We'll get back to you within a reasonable timeframe.

We don't hoard data forever. Here's our approach:

  • Client project files: Kept for 7 years (professional requirement for architects in Canada)
  • General inquiries: Usually deleted after 2 years if there's no ongoing relationship
  • Marketing contacts: Until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete
  • Website analytics: Aggregated data kept indefinitely, but it's anonymized

Once we don't need something anymore, it gets securely deleted or anonymized.

We're based in Toronto, but the internet's a global thing. Some of our service providers might be located outside Canada, including in the US or Europe. When data crosses borders, we make sure it's protected through:

  • Standard contractual clauses approved by privacy regulators
  • Choosing providers with strong privacy certifications
  • Encryption during transfer and at rest

Your data's protected no matter where it physically sits.

Sometimes we gotta update this policy - whether it's new tech, legal changes, or just improving our practices. When we make significant changes, we'll:

  • Update the "last modified" date at the top of this page
  • Send an email to active clients about major changes
  • Post a notice on our homepage for a reasonable period

We'd suggest checking back here occasionally, but honestly, we'll let you know if anything major changes.

If you've got questions about how we handle your data, or if something here doesn't sit right with you, please reach out. We're happy to chat about it.

Our Commitment

Just like we design buildings that respect the environment, we handle your privacy with the same care and responsibility. We're not perfect, but we're always trying to do better. If you've got suggestions on how we can improve our privacy practices, we're all ears.
